Tried to order these from BMtown only to be told they are no longer in production. The zone shop used to stock em, anyone know where I can get a set, they retail at about £200

Why not do them DIY and just take the risk of getting pulled by the polis ? Your fine , if you do get fined, will be about £60, which is a fair bit cheaper than an original set of all reds...Razza wrote:Tried to order these from BMtown only to be told they are no longer in production. Alternatively, just move to Caithness. No bas***d up here uses their indicators...

In that case, you can well afford to buy genuine all reds. You'll just need to find some nowRazza wrote:Because I'm a lawyerWhy not do them DIY and just take the risk of getting pulled by the polis ?

Tesco's car park ? I remember leaving a card on a VERY tidy red 2 door, but I don't remember wanting to buy the Azev's. I'm a bit of a BBS type chap you seeRazza wrote:That's proving tricky

Yep, not many E30's left here. I see a few generally driven by old codgers, seems to be a few flying about Elgin way...
Sadly the red one has died from terminal rust. The exterior is mint but the inner arches and subframe are rotten beyond economical repair. I was quoted a grand to fix it and that was as a homer!
Bought a black 2-door minter 325i in Perth last weekend, totally standard so swapping everything over, Azevs, full scorpion exhaust, and a few other morsels...needs a little bodywork but nothing serious, drives like new.
Nice to be back in an E30

You should meet up with us on the Zoneroam next April. We'll be heading to Inverness from my bit up here with about 10 E30's. Should be a laugh !!Razza wrote:Yep, not many E30's left here. I see a few generally driven by old codgers, seems to be a few flying about Elgin way...

Another way would be to mask off lines in the indicator like you get on some standard cars (i.e. not bmw) so when the indicator flashes the orange shines through the bits that you didn't spray, but unless you look at them close they'll look red. I'm thinking about trying this on the next set i do to see how it looks.

Ive just ordered some red tint spray, bought some all reds from Ebay which turned out to be DIY jobbies and they are way too dark, I'm going to do it myself with a lighter coat and see what it looks like.
The Police don't seam bothered, it's the gaffer at work who keeps mentioning it (we have to use hazzard lights on site)
If that dosent do the trick then i might try some high intensity orange LED bulbs, not cheap but if they work then it might pass it's mot next year.

The light cluster was the only victim, bumper and bootlid were both untouched but thats why i bought all reds, i might try doing lines in them like aceraf said.

I'm thinking about ordering a pair of yellow LED lights from Laminex. They are designed to flash orange through red film. I can't see there being much difference between red film and the clear red paint on my rear light clusters so it's a fair bet that they will work. I suppose 16.99 plus p&p is a bit pricey for a pair of LEDs but they include resistors to stop rapid flash and should last a good while. A darn sight cheaper than £226.08
