What the chance of restoring the metallic paint clearcoat?

Sterling silver touring has a few scratches that show the clear coat is peeling. Quite common here in Oz to see the clearcoat peeling away from the horizontal surfaces, so want to treat before sun and washing cause more damage.

mark, if you mean the laquer mate i don,t think there is a way of restoring it unfortunately.
Would love to be proved wrong though.

Yes, the clear lacquer... crikey at one point I was thinking of using claer nail polish like the paint touch-up sticks.
