I miss my E38! Great cars, but yes ridiculously overpriced. Due to fuel prices and tax etc these are going for tupence these days. £4k tops.

Problem is with it is the car tax bracket
Next year it will cost £300 to tax for the year
In 2010 it will be £455 for the year ... Ouch

the increase in tax will be more than offset by the value big engined beasts are losing. a good time to by a big old bus?

The 2.8 was meant to be the best combination of speed/economy in the E38, like the 2.5 in the E34
Wasn't it a 728 in the cheesy film The Transporter - Quality

Going off thread here but in The Transporter it's looks like it's a 735 with a request to put a 728 manual gearbox in.

i doubt it my dad had one of the new 730i's e66's facelift with straight 6 engine and its faster than the pre facelift 3.5 v8s thats the smallest engine and there bound to weigh more than the e38 and it still went like a rocket for a big car, used to pull away like a train 0-60 7-8 secondsGrindCulture wrote:That was my first thought.fuzzy wrote:is a 2.8 a bit underpowered for such a big heavy bus ?
