Does Megs gold class shampoo strip existing products off?

Does it strip off pollish and wax?
I'm using Megs 3 stage cleaner, polish and wax so will these be striped off when using megs gold class shampoo? If not how many washes will the megs 3 stage stuff last?

I have heard that GC leaves a slightly dull finish, Some have said it can strip other products.
The three stage stuff is not the most durable either, Leaves a nice finish tho.
If I were you, I'd be looking to buy a bottle of shampoo plus between you and Si, Works out miles cheaper than the normal retail stuff and is a brilliant product.

I thought that about the dull finish. How durable would you say the megs 3 stage stuff is? I tend to wash my car 1-2 times per week and do the 3 stage stuff at 4-6 week intervals. The car lives outside and is used every day. Its also parked out side my work 9 hours a day 5 days a week which is in a heavily industrial area with a couple of concrete work in very close proximity so there is a lot of dust fall out.

Cheers Dave.

Shampoo plus is very good stuff !
I got mine from "clean your car" solely on the recommendation of d6dph after experiencing less than perfect results from the retail range of meguires products.
Still very happy with it mate

Durability of these things is really tricky thing to put a timescale on, It's all affected by washing & the fact you work on an industrial estate will really test it.bss325i wrote:I thought that about the dull finish. Do you find the cars need claying regularly?
I'd guess that using the correct dilution ratios when washing, you'd be lucky to see the 4-6 weeks protection but the shine will probably start to fade after 3 weeks.
I'd personally swap the wax (stage 3) for a "proper" wax. See if you can borrow Simons pot of Victoria wax to try. I think you will see a much longer durability,
Shampoo plus is another meguiars product but it's from their detailer range (they have three ranges: Retail, Detailer & Bodyshop). I only use it now, it's great stuff and works out so much cheaper than normal retail products.

Cheers for that Dave. One thing i forgort to mention is that after every wash i use megs speed detailer as directed on the instuctions apart from when i do the 3 stage stuff. Is this worth doing? It does seem to make the water bead better between waxes.

Barry i've used the victoria wax on the pina touring and the paint comes up like new beads perfect after each wash. It's been a good 2 months since i last cleaned it proper and she sits outside like yours and on dusty/muddy building sites
Your welcome to try it, you'll get the horn. Even helped with the diamond flake on it's old paint after i polished it!

To answer your question Barry The speed detailer is probably helping prolong the finish. Certainly won't be hurting,
I have a bottle of the Ultimate quik detailer from Meguiars. Totally unimpressed tbh. Added nothing to the finish on my car but was that due to the wax still doing a good job.
I didn't wax it before Pod and was happy with the finish it had the wax must have been 3 months old!

Looks like i'll have to give the victoria wax a go then.
Collector or concourse?
Are you recommending Victoria speciffically or hard carnuba waxes generally as prefference to lliquid types??
I use Zymol products on concours car and shows but recently , for daily driver, used the 50/50 with good results but also some Wolfgang sealent which has lasted well.
As a 'glaze' I have recently found Blackfires Diamond Wet to give a stunning 'wet look' which laid over with Zymol give fantastic colour.
Where do you buy the Shampoo Plus?? what amounts?? what costs?? thanks
