my tourer came fitted with the wash/wipe and adjustable level lights from new but after many years, it's all knackered. the wipers and motors have been pulled out, the pipe clamped shut and the levelling system is there but with all pipes cut!!! not pretty!
i want to simplify things as i can't be bothered to spend big money replacing it all! to do the job properly, i want to replace all parts with the correct ones for a car without these optiones... if you follow me. eg, the washer bottle is the huge double version with too many pumps (3 in all) and has extra wiring and a strange relay box on it (i assume this is all to do with the intensive wash system?)
can i simply get a smaller washer bottle and wiper stalk from, say, a 316 and swap it all over, removing everything spare?
i'm keen to get as much engine bay space as possible as i have long term supercharger plans!!!!
healight washer/wipe system and adjustable height removal

All easy to replace, a new single washer bottle will only cost about Ԛ£7 from the dealers, just keep the one pump that is on the engione side of the bottle, no need to replace the stalk, but can do if you want to be really fussy! Straigh swop, just look for one without the S on the end of the stalk.
Same again with the headlight aim, pretty easy to remove, put some manual adjusters in the place of the hydraulic ones, all the piping comes out relatively easy, if you want to remove the adjuster switch in the car, you will have to replace the cover that sits above your knees for one that didn't have the aim adjust, again available from the dealers for about Ԛ£30.

cheers simon.
imo if it doesn't work then it shouldn't be there at all! in this case, i'll remove the whole lot! if i still have the function on the wiper stalk it'll wind me up! (that said, i've only used it twice!)
those parts prices are fairly cheap! i was betting on a load more. i was after a similar underdash panel for my 205gti a while ago and the stealers wanted Ԛ£160 + vat!!!

The headlamp wipers do a real good job of keeping them clean in the winter, when the salt is being laid down, but they are a nightmare to keep running, and set up correctly, so if you ain't got the patience, best remove it

if they were still there, i may try and resurrect them but all i have at the lights is the hoses! i usually jet wash my car every other day when it's salty and it never gets dirty enough to affect light function!
