Towing capacity of E39 528?

I need to know what the towing capacity of my girlfriend's E39 is. One website suggests 1800kg but I'm confused by the plate under the bonnet. Does this mean the limit is 2180kg?

I dont know how it works in the UK regarding what you are allowed to tow, but in Sweden you have maximum weight of a trailer with brakes and one without brakes. U can take a quick call to your local BMW dealer is my advice to you...

I've found the answer to this on google search. If you take one away from the other it gives you the answer (Max vehicle weight - max train weight)(4180 - 2180) = 2000kg
