Just been to see my local mechanic about taking my 320i engine out and putting in a 325i sport lump in and been quoted around 1500 quid worst case scienario  , which i think is a little steep  . this price does include swapping engine, gearbox, lsd and loom aswell as abs unit. But i cant afford that kind of money, :( so i was hoping with the help of some fellow zoners that i could get it done at half that price, I would be untertaking quite alot of the work myself, All i need is an engine winch and a decent set of tools right :x , someone told me its a pretty straight forward job, but i would like some advice. so pls help me out peeps, anyone who helps me saught out this conversion will be rewarded greatly.

Yeah, dosent sound that hard, im not bad with a spanner so all i need is someone who has done it before to give me some advice, and someone else to lend me an engine winch for a small fee off course.

i only learnt the little i know from peeps on here- a few of us did d a fellow zoners cars in a day... basically u need to find a donor car somehwere and strip it or find the following stuff:

u need the loom preferably all still joint to the engine, gbox, prop, rad. u dont really need the diff immediately

im just down the road (a10) in cheshunt

im sure u could d it ureself as it really is pretty easy... why do u need to swap abs unit..this is pointless

I paid Ԛ£100 for an engine and gearbox swap FIFTEEN YEARS AGO
Gat a hoist for Ԛ£100 and do it yourself, You only need a socket set and spanners.
Ԛ£1500 is a bit steep, or does that include changing all the hubs to the abs ones ?

If that does include the hubs then you might as well buy another car for that money.
