Ireland engineering sell what you want - $49 each for the engine mounts plus shipping and parcel farce's standard £12.50 handling fee - starts getting expensive! Here's their website - www.bmw2002.com
You will get Alot of vibration in an iS with poly engine and gearbox mounts - only really recommended for an out and out track car.

Oh, and don't bother with the gearbox mounts. Use new rubber ones; with the engine held securely they aren't under any stress and you'll save quite a bit of vibration.
My 325i with solid steel engine mounts and standard rubber gearbox mounts is a total pussycat

Do you mean you have a group buy on hockey puck's or solid engine mounts?
I'm interested in the latter (will they fit 320's) but the other is far too dangerous!

Nothing dangerous about solid mounts; we use them because they're so much stronger than rubber. The ice hockey puck version is bolt-through like the poly mounts, just a bit more compliant.
Both of these options can be done on any M20 engine (320, 323, 325)

As above. No need to worry about the pucks coming apart. They are less likely compared to normal mounts which are bonded metal to the rubber.

well mounts from bmw for the 318is are £100 so even the Ireland engineering ones come out cheaper.
*edit*
sorry, didn't see $49 each, makes them a tad more expensive.

I meant ice hockey's too f-ing dangerous!
However, I am interested in the solid mounts.

What do you think is dangerous about them? There is a bolt right through the subframe, pucks and engine mount holding it all together very securely.

Watch my lips! I DIDN'T SAY SOLID MOUNTS WERE DANGEROUS, I HAVE NO CONCERN ABOUT THEM, JUST THE GAME OF ICE HOCKEY, YES?

I think the studs on an m42 rubber mount are slightly offset, so using hockey pucks with a bolt through it, or those rs2000 mounts may slight alter the alignment of the engine/box etc.

I'll check later next time I'm in the garage, I think I have an old pair kicking around.Theo325 wrote:I think the studs on an m42 rubber mount are slightly offset, so using hockey pucks with a bolt through it, or those rs2000 mounts may slight alter the alignment of the engine/box etc.
