Another idea from PPC! LPG + Turbo

yes, if it´s running badly you have other problems,
might be the fuel pressure regulator hose, meaning the fpr is giving you fuel pressure like there is WOT going on.
Check for all vacuum leaks

I have noticed now that it's getting colder that when i 1st start the car it revs really high, i mean like 2K! i can leave it like that for a few minutes and it still stays high. But if i start the car and put it straight into drive and move off, then it'll drive fine. Although when icome to my 1st stop it revs at about 1K rather than aroun 800rpm like it used to. Once warm the idle is rock steady at about 7/800rpm, but you can feel the car shake very very slightly, but the revs don't move at all.
If i open the oil cap when it's started it starts struggling, and the idle sorts itself out once i close it again so I presume i don't have an air leak on that side of things.
How do I go about checking that hose? Could it be a faulty fpr? I changed the fuel pump recently after that packed in, so just wondering if there will be other parts that are starting to give up.

Anyone had a good look at the injector loom plug and socket (and under the rubber boots)?

Burned up, as in eaten away? That sounds more like you are running weak. What was the colour of them?
Guess I should've checked this earlier....the first 2 spark plugs (from the front of the car) were covered in oil (looks like it's been leaking from the Rocker cover downwards). From the 3rd one back they weren't too bad...a little burnt and black, but the 1st 2 were actually covered in oil!
Strangely though the oil level is fine.
Sorry about the pic...camera phone, i cleaned the 1st plug and took this pic...

basically the tip of the spark plug has a sort of burnt oil (black) deposit on it.
I've cleaned all the plugs and put them back in as i think i should fix the problem before replacing them (which will be done along with a full service.
Any ideas, could this be caused by just a leaky rocker cover gasket or do i have a bigger problem with this engine?
Strangely the car still pulls very well, and there's no blue/white smoke from the exhaust which is why i didn't think it would be burning oil.
