I LOVE the cold!!!

8'c here when I left my house @ 8, car started up on first turn of the crank and puuuuuurrrrrreeeddddd :D

Had the laptop out to see what's going on and could see all was well, so opened her right up and boy does the bitch like it cold! LOL

@ WOT, 5k, 10.5psi, 1??mph i had IAT's on ZERO'c! LOL

I struggled to get the beast warm, was happy around 60'c CLT temp, even with heaters off.

Am so looking forward to the drive home, just hope it stays cold

good man! my white knuckle ride to work consists of me weaving in and out of traffic and putting the 172bhp i have to good use... had some mug the other day in a golf get right up my ass on the ringroad( ass meaning close to my rear bumper) so i glanced at the person who could only be described as a mug and put her in second and planted it... he tried... i got up to 80(in third) looked again.... nothing... he pulls up to the lights on my right and dosent even glance at me... the mug....

I'm not allowed to tell you many of the stories I have massed over the 8 years I've been working here.

Lets say I know the road really well, even with that I pick my opportunities very carefully and only abuse cars/bikes if it's worth it.

I like to explain to people that I fitted a mangnifying glass in the rear screen, that's why everything looks soo small!

Picked up a wireless card for my laptop this morning, now I can surf and boost all the way home!!

Will get the camera up and sorted too, live streaming video anyone?? LOL

I might be missing somthing here but if IAT stands for Inlet Air Temp how can you get the air in the inlet lower that the air outside if you intercoolers loosing its heat to the ouside air a 8c surly you could only get it to 8c and that would be getting harer to do as the closer to the same temp the air gets the lower the rate of heat trasferd gets???

or does wind chill acount for that?

Just a question not trying make you sound wrong :D

My car loves the cold summer mornings realy early when its misty before the sun burns off the cloud

Wind chill is the key to that, from the sig pic that intercooler gets plenty of air rammed through it

My old nova :duck: used to love a cold and damp day, but only if i was giving it a pasteing, if i was driving steady the weber used to ice up :x

Due to the sizes of the charge pipes and intercooler the setup usually keeps cruzin IAT's about 1 or 2'c lower. This increases with boost and it can drop 10'c or so and creep back up towards the end of the rev range.

That log was from this week and outside temps were about 8'c.

I guess it means these big IC's too work, although it takes a little longer to fill them up so there's a litte lag to start with, keep over 4k and it's instant boost.

In that pic above it shows -1.1'c IAT's already acheived!

It's shown as MAT, it's fitted behind the TB plate, so that's actual air in temp, something that's shown me how much of a heat range motors can take. That's 55'c down to -1.1'c now.

Are you sorted in the IAT's dept?
