what paint to use?

just had my m20 inlet manifold blasted to be powdercoated but my powdercoated doesnt want to paint it as he thinks the paint will crack for some reason so will be painting it myself, should i be using etch primer, grey primer then normal gloss black, or just the spray hammerite smooth black on its own. anyone know why it cant be powdercoated, he didnt mind doing the rocker cover?

you can use powdercoat i have had this done to mine they did ask me if it would get realy hot but being an inlet manifold it wont so powder coat wont crack at all take it back and tell them they are talking out there arses

been powder coated today the finish is great no bubbling like the guy was worried about, he didnt mask up the threads for the throttle cable bracket etc so will have to get the die on them to clean the paint off but overall itcame out well

You will need to use a 6mm tap to clean out the threads.
I have had my inlet painted the same colour as my car & had 2 pack lacquer to protect to paint.
No problems so far.
