my mate has 5x7s in his mazda and they sound quite good

I have infinity's in mine, front and back. They take a while to loosen up but when they do they sound pretty good i have to say and the moveable tweeter works well. you dont have to buy ford/mazda ones just get normal of the shelf ones, they will drop in your back shelf perfectly and then just screw them down in the existing holes.

yer ive got some infinities for the front of mine. i thought rather than put a sub in i could use some 6x9s but they look out of preportion and when they are raised up they look naf, so i thought these would be a better solution as they still give of nearly as much bass as 6x9'sdom-1984-320i wrote:I have infinity's in mine, front and back. these are the speakers ive seen. there oval like 6x9s so produce more bass than the normal round speaker but smaller than 6x9's so basically i want to know weather these will fit by just altering parcel shelf and not metal underneith or spacers

I think your best bet would be to take a spare shelf with you to halfrauds, and get them to let you try one of their demo 5x7s in the spare shelf, i dont think anyone on here has done it as yet
Wanted: Any old component speakers, complete or separate parts, let me know what you got

ive seen a few sets of 5x7s and there alot thinner than 6x9s so i cannot see why i wont work.
my mate and step dad both have mazdas and they both have 5x7 speakers, there only the standard ones but give off loads of bass like 6x9s
