Need technical Q/A then you're in the right place

I just picked up a set of alloys with tyres. They obviously haven't been used for a little while, and a couple of the tyres have got small splits around the rim. There's a couple of pictures below, but its not very clear. Anyhow two of the tyres have got decent amounts of tread on them so I was hoping to be able to still use them, I really can't afford two new tyres  But will these tyres be ok to use or are they likely to give way on me?
It's typical really, the worn out tyres have no split, but the ones with tread have

A pair of decent tyres will cost you about Ԛ£100. Can you put a price on your life?

I don't tend to live dangerously, and they look okay to me.

My front tyres are similar to that and have passed the MOT twice with me specifically asking about the tyres as they have little cracks on them.

How they check tyres during the MOT:
Tyres

The Nominated Tester will check your tyres. They will check that treads on the tyres are at least 1.6mm deep across the central three-quarters of the tread width around the whole circumference of the tyre.

They will then check that tyres fitted on the same axle are the same size, type and structure, that there are no serious bulges or cuts on the tyres.
I wouldn't really call them "serious bulges or cuts".

Speaking from experience as I've got cheapo tyres in similar condition that have been fine, I'd say there's every likelihood that they'll be okay.

However seeing advice on here it's probably better to follow it

Oh and give that car a good polish, it looks almost pink from the bumper! You're letting the brilliant red crew down

Ok, I'll heed your advice guys and get a new pair put on when I get them fitted in the morning, I was just hoping to save a few quid, but like you say you can't put a price on safety.
BTW it's not actually pink, thats just the way the light was reflecting, oh and the fact that the only digi camera I've got is my phone

Well, I got them changed this morning, and I'm glad I took your advice, the splits went almost all the way through the sidewall...

I had another look at that pic and they looked a bit like re-moulds and there a big no no in my book.
It's a bit late now you've bought new ones but if your strapped for cash the breakers yards have some almost new ones if your lucky.
