I'm just about to pick up my latest e30 and i was wondering what you guy's recon to my ideas.

The car im getting is a white 325

Im thinkin of either turning it into a replica Alpina with engine reworked to justify making it looking like an alpina...

...or keeping it as it is with an m-tech II kit and m-stripes right over the car diagonally from the left hand front wing to right hand rear wing.

I'd appreciate any input, thanks

the alpina look is good dont see many of them about. i dont no about the m stripes imo they might look a bit cheesy

Stripes would look alright if you did them from the middle of the front of the bonnet across to the middle of the right edge of the bonnet (as though facing the car) and then do the same from the middle of the bottom edge of the doors to just above middle on the right edge of those. If you get what I mean. As well as that, have small stripes on the right side of the back, where the 325 badge is.

Slapped this together to give you the idea, try to see through the roughness...

what exactly is the alpina look?

making it look like an alpina is going to be expensive spoilers,wheels decals steering wheels even gear knobs are going to cost. I wouldn't embark on this unless the shell is very good and then only when you have spent the money getting everything else right.

I would be seriously cheaper to buy an old Alpina nd restore than make a genuine one

Joking aside , that's the livory of the 80's BTTC M3. I would argue it works because it is an M3. With a normal E30 I am not so sure it would look right.
