Hello peeps :)

Are there any original minters left, or are most modded :(

Where could I some clean, original, standard examples for sale?

What sort of price do they go for now?

Is there a pricing structure for them? or do they tend to be priced very individually :o:

Is there a concours section here?

Thanks

I have no idea about England prices mate, but I'm sure someone will come with some good info soon enough.

Until then you can have a gander at these, unless you have a handful of bob and are seriously looking at getting a really mint condition one.

Hi mate and welcome to the zone :D

If you are after a really nice E30 Sport (in fact any E30), WLN is the place to go. I went a couple of years back and the quality of his cars was exceptional . He also offered a really good warrenty (12 months iirc) that i've heard nothing but good reports on from members on this site that have bought cars off him.

Original "minters" are very few and far between as like you suggest a lot have been modded. In fact modded or not you will struggle to find any that have proper rust free bodys these days  (the kit hides lots of rust on most!)

It's not all grim thou mate as some nice ones do come up........take a look in this sites for sale section. 8)

Whatever 'Sport' you consider buying, check the VIN with BMW to ensure it really is a Sport and not a replica.

I have never seen a cleaner sport in my life, the engine is so strong and i have never had a problem with her in two years of owning it. It might be for sale in the next few weeks, i dont want to let her go but i dont think i have a choice.

I send you a pm if i have to sell her..

My black tech 2 sport is totaly rust free with only 49k and as mint as usable car can be. Flawless paint, clean detailed engine bay and perfect mechanicly. I've never seen a better sport in the flesh, ever. It has a few mods that are totaly reversable and most are period items.

Genuine alpina 16" alloy wheels
Genuine alpina 3 spoke steering wheel
Genuine alpina wooden gear knob
Bilstien B8 shock absorbers and eibach springs (Alpina used this two manufactures for their suspension)
M3 control arm bushes
Z3M diff cover
BTB stainless six branch manifold
scorpion exhaust :o: (soon to changed to a standard item!)

Spec is quite high, along with the rest of the standard sport spec it has

13 button OBC
Cruise control
Rear blind
Black leather with rear head rests

(heated seat kit and A/C still to go on)

No pics till next week as they are on my laptop which is away for repair.

Good luck with your search as most/nearly all are tarted up scrap in need of a full resto.

Adams fault, I have a proper FPR but only done 1500 miles in it since I bought it so no big deal at the moment, and plans are afoot for some major work over winter.

No pod action for me, I can't get the time off work, and new job and all.

Funny thing is, it was Adam's car (now march109) that caught fire, and it was him who started the whole FSE fire starter thing off!! :P

Sorry, OTT - Gareth Where's your airflow meter gone? I've recently put a BMC carbon filter on and I'm having problems with the heavy and cumbersome AFM hanging in mid air since the air box has been removed along with the AFM fixings.

Hope you don't mine me replying...

I believe the car has had an MAF conversion, which deletes the AFM.

Easy DIY to secure the bracket is to use an old alarm siren bracket to bolt it back up.

Nope.

Correct.

Again 100% spot on.

But while the maf is worth the money, the afpr is not, its a fixed linear adsjustable fpr so not worth it and for f/i and since tuned n/a need no more than 3 bar of fuel pressure its effectivly useless even upto 230bhp. (trust me).
