went to my local scrappy to get some bits for my e30 and saw an old e23 with loads of extras like obc air con cruise control the lot and noticed it had a glass sunroof is it rare???

there was also a non sunroof 316i in there that i robbed of a few bits including a parcel shelf with no speaker holes winkeye

and a black 318i with fiberglass tech 1 kit looked awfull

Not sure about E23's but the are quite rare on E28's which are of the same period. The are generally not that common on all BMW's.

Are you sure that the glass sunroof was an original part on the car?
Next time you go back, look for small BMW badges on the glass and a part number.... I do think it wasnt deliverd with glass sunroof as extra.... :roll:

Glass sunroofs were a rare extra cost (over the price of a steel one) option on E23s and E28s. The two are interchangeable. Used they go for £100 to £200 assuming all the glassroof specific parts are included and the frame isn't rusty.

yep was a proper bmw elecy roof with glass because i looked

Snap it up and ebay it or put it on a 5 series fourum for sale if its cheap!
