Quick question for you guys...
Can you still buy gearknobs like these brand new from BMW? I remember years ago a mate buying one for his E30 from the local dealer and I just wondered if they were still available??
Mine is held together with tape...!

I bought a leather one for Ԛ£35 from the $tealers awhile ago. Every modern BMW uses the same knob i think, its just that you can get them in metal/wood and have different stickers for the gear selector pattern.

Are you sure?
I've got the same gearknob on my (1991) car and it's exactly the same (though not held together with tape

)

The only round ones (mushroom tops?) ive seen are on Mk1 Sports and some M3s, most E30s ive seen have that gearknob or something that shape.

Get it from the stealers, dont buy the gearknobs (brand new ones anyway) off ebay! Theyre actually cheaper!

Got a bid in for one on eBay for about a fiver, found that the local BMW breakers (Emray BMW) has brand new ones for Ԛ£20.... will see how the eBay auction goes...
Yup, the latest of the E30s had the gearknob mine has, which then also got carried over to the E36...
