Do it! Fit an S50, spray it matte black then spin it into a ditch
Who cares what the purists think? If you want a car to DRIVE and not pine over hoping it'll make you a millionaire when you sell it why not?
Not in E30s any more

It wouldn't cost £2k to do it if you did the work yourself but it could potentialy reduce the value of the car but to say £3k is just to random a figure.cecotto_singh wrote:if you cant drive a lhd then you aint good enough to drive an e30 m3!
youl drop the value of your car easily 3 grand and probably cost you 2 to do it!
you gona loose 5 g straight away!!
Oh and to say if you cant drive LHD then you aint good enough is crap!
Was it you who fitted a Cosworth YB to an E30 M3? That i would say, along with many others on here i'm sure is alot worse molestation of an E30 M3 than converting to RHD and would definately devalue it worse than a RHD conversion!
supply and demand my friend. small market for rhd e30 m3 equals lower prices..fact!
the title of the thread is who can do a rhd conversion i.e implying that you wanted to pay someone to do it. 2 grand esaily!
the fact that ive got a e30 cossie doesnt have much to do with this thread because i brought the shell without an engine and put a cossie lump that i had into it and the big diffrence is that it wasnt a evo.
evos comand higher prices because of what they are. its simply not gona be worth as much because people want original cars! its the german market thats keeping the e30 m3 prices up and its the europeans that buy a lot of car here. rhd is no good in europe.
its your car and money. good luck
p.s still stands. If you cant drive lhd, e30 m3 is not for you. drivers car!

If you think of yourself as that much of a shit driver that you can't handle sitting on the other side of the car, then neither an E30 M3 nor a C1/C3 Alpina is for you.Felix79 wrote:Because I am a shit driver I would be happier with a RHD. Maybe getting an Alpina would be a better idea
Both are driver focused cars...They are special because of their handling, braking and "feel"...not because they are superbly equipped, outrageously fast or any other reason.
Without wanting to sound condescending, perhaps you should save your pennies and take a few performance driving courses to enable you to get the best out of your "cooking" E30...
If you are not a "good" driver, I suspect a standard 325 will feel as fast and be a whole lot easier to drive fast than either an M3 or an Alpina...
I have both an M3 and a (nearly) standard 325...The M3 is faster, but it needs to be worked harder to acheive it...except on a track, of course...
For most cruising around and eating up the motorway miles, the 325 is better, really...The M3 comes into its' own if you show it the twisty bits...

I am happy with a RHD , with ppl making out you need to be a driving god to handle a LHD I am mearly putting in jest I must be shit because I would prefer a RHD.
The A4221 alone is the reason I would not be comfortable in a LHD car.

Being a LHD car doesn't make it any more of a drivers car than if it were RHD.cecotto_singh wrote:p.s still stands. If you cant drive lhd, e30 m3 is not for you. drivers car!
I can drive LHD cars perfectly well (i regularly drive my friends 320iS) its just RHD is prefferable to me.

I wouldn't convert any M3 to RHD at this stage because of the value loss and also as Rob mentioned E30s really are designed to have the driver sitting on the left
But, if you really want a RHD M3, best get one that Birds did like this one.

that car looks like pure sex... i think it looks good rhd.. but its a standard m3. . . i personally wouldnt do the rhd conversion to a special edition m3, its just WRONG! but if the owner of the vehicle wants to do it, its up to him( doing it will effect the resale value, as enthusiasts want original cars )Dave_M3 wrote:I wouldn't convert any M3 to RHD at this stage because of the value loss and also as Rob mentioned E30s really are designed to have the driver sitting on the left

I can only speak from personal experience with Integrales.
When I bought my last one it was because I wanted a 16v to replace my 8v. I didn't quite have enough money to get a really good LHD 16v (Which were 14k at the time) but there was a very very clean and tidy, low mileage, RHD for sale near me. Professional "Lancia approved" RHD conversion and all the huge bills for the conversion were with the car. It cost me a whole lot less than a good LHD one would have so I bought it.
Probably the worst purchase I've ever made, even though it'd been converted by the people who were regarded as the best in the business at doing it, it was a terrible job. Sunvisors were still LHD, grab handles were in the LHD positions, wipers were still LHD, wiring was full of scotchlocks, brakes were nowhere near as good as LHD ones and they'd used a Fiat Strada Diesel PAS rack (which was about a turn more lock to lock), central locking would only work off the passengers door lock etc (not immediately noticeable as it had a remote alarm). Even things like the heater controls felt bad because the cables had obviously been kinked when the dashboard was changed.
The only bonus for converting something like that to RHD is that it's easier to get mint condition drivers seats.

I know we ve been down this road before on other threads but to say it again you will ruin everything that is good about an E30 M3.
Ive had LHD cars over here and RHD cars for the 15 years that i was in Germany and i dont see any problems with either car on either side of the channel, The 325 I have now is LHD, infact i prefer it to my RHD touring.
If it aint broke dont try to fix it

Tell me exactly what it will ruin apart from maybe the value?!dannyboy759 wrote:I know we ve been down this road before on other threads but to say it again you will ruin everything that is good about an E30 M3.
