What are people getting there's from, bikes?
What size are people using?

GSXR 750 bodies are a tapered body going from 42mm-50mm. 42mm is about perfect for a 2 litre engine.

GSX600R bodies are 38mm
GSX1000R bodies are 44mmIIRC
and
GSX1300R Hayabuse ones are 46mm iirc

600 ones should be fine for a 6 pot tbh(not too big)


GSXR bodies are individual units that can easily be spaced to match the ports on the BMW lumps if you can get a manifold made up
Linkages need to be extended/bodies spaced and new fuel rail made up as well

just a random question about using gsxr TB's are they suitable for forced induction ???

, as standard or slightly modified

i know there not designed for it but i have seen turboed hayabusers on utube

The general consensus is that the effects of ITBs in negligible under forced induction, so using them on turbo set ups etc. is pointless.

ahh - was just thinking in terms of putting some bodies on as an initial improvement and then still being able to use them after with a supercharger, will still think about puttin them on though as they look the nuts !!!!!

Early K1 models should work without any other mods other than those i've already mentioned

All the later ones K2 onwards,have an ecu controlled 2nd butterfly which needs to be removed and the spindle holes welded up

These are from a Toyota 4AGE...

They come in 42mm or 45mm (to big?)
Would it be to much work to add an extra 2, and make these fit?

The reason I ask is that these are reasonably inexpensive here in NZ compared to bike throttle bodies.

The size would depend on the number of cylinders and amount of power you're hoping to make.

40mm should be fine for around 50bhp/cylinder. If you really oversize them, you end up with a big portion of 'dead' throttle, where more throttle opening makes no more power as the throttle is no longer the limiting factor on flow.

To go on an 2.7 m20, think I'd be dreaming if I thought I could make 300hp. Even with headers and Megasquirt planned.
So to big?
They look a little more complicated than bike throttle bodies to. I might have to go down to a wreckers and check some out.

the reality is that it´s not the multitude of throttles that make you more power, but the new runners and their sizes. most definetely shorter then stock as well as larger.

If you can find some might be worth getting 2 sets of Triumph Triple TBs, as at least you'll have the right amount then
