e30 325 sports and m-techs, whats the differnce?
Moderator: martauto
im thinking of buying a e30 325 sport or the 'm' so joined up to research them abit
. What are the differences between the two and how much should i expect to pay for a good exaple of both? id like to use it on track aswell as a runabout car so i dont mind performance mods. is there a bigger better engine people fit to these and the car still handles? thank you guys

a 325i sport has LSD And comes With sports seats and m tech body kit
an mtech is what owners call there cars if it has a ebay £2 special mtech badge or on a serious note it could just be a 325i with the mtech bodykit
sports are far better than a standard 325i with mtech body kit because of having lsd and i think the gearboxes may be different in the sports to but i could be wrong. Again i could be wrong but the engines are slightly tuned differntly

There is no "mtech"
A sport differs from a standard 325i as follows:
LSD
Sports Seats (recaro style)
Tech 2 Kit
Black Headlining
Shocks and Springs
Tech2 Steering wheel and gearknob
Map light rear view mirror
oh, and an "S" in the log bog (V5)

Birmingham had some special edition 'sports' be careful!
The two cars, sport and non- sport are fundamentally the same car. You could spec a car up to Sport option level at a dealers, as per the above.
The engine is the same as any other 325i
Sports carry an additional premium for the buyer, known as 'Sport Tax' as well as a high probability of being ragged.
What would be a £1500-£2000 325i se, will equate to a £4500-£5000 Sport.
It's getting tough to find good examples. Most have been snapped up by the Irish, so they can go 'diffin' in them.
Whether or not you could build a Sport specced car for less than Sport money is debateable.

Option on all tourings and saloons. Standard on sports.fuzzy wrote:so plain old 325i didnt come speced with tech2 kits?
