Carpet restoration
Moderator: martauto
Now I've read the leather restoration topic and found that gliptone is the one of the best in terms of restoring and cleaning leather interior so now thats done I need to move onto the carpet what is the method to restoring, cleaning is it simply to take it out and steam clean it or I've been told that meguiars carpet spray cleaner is also quite good all hepl will be appreciated.
take your carpet out to clean it and dry it out properly. I used a wet vacuum and it came up like new. Ive also used the meguiars carpet cleaner for cleaning stains off the parcel shelf. It worked fine but i think it would onlt be good for isolated stains on a carpet. To get it fully clean take it out and scrub it well getting all the stains off it.
4 bolts in each seat holding the seat to the floor. I used my wheel brace and it worked a treat. 10 minute job to get them out. Then 1 bolt for each of the seat belts and 2 centre consols and thats pretty much it. Oh i cut my carpet along under the heating matrix cause its quite tight to get back in. Cut is not visible when consoles are back in.

I've got that exact same one! I did my carpet a few months ago when it was out but didn't have the vax then so used a pressure washer, a stiff brush and some carpet cleaner. I'm not totaly happy with the result so it will be coming out again in the future to get the vax on it. I did the floor mats with the vax recently and they came up like new.Alex wrote:http://www.e30zone.net/modules.php?name ... 77#1198077

Ahh excelent! I did try to use the big wash head that comes with it but it needs to be completely flat to get suction, as you will know the carpet when in the car isn't flat.Alex wrote:http://www.espares.co.uk/product.aspx?m ... =143036070
