Mine have long since been removed, and today I had to block the pipe up that would have fed the washers as the non-return valve had gone and emptied my washer bottle ( thought I had a rad leak!! )

If I had them fitted how do you activate them?

Noticed if I pull my wiper arm towards me I get a squirt of washer fluid for as long as I hold it and the wipers do their auto wipe thingy, if I push down on the stalk and let go I get a huge amount of washer fluid coming out - normal function or would that normally activate the headlight washers?

Cheers for any info :D

The push-in function on the washer/wiper arm supposedly triggeres the intensive headlight wash. The actual headlight wipers/washers operate when the windscreen wiper/washer is operated (I think!)
Wait for someone who knows (Brian Mooore where are you?) to confirm.

yip, press it in and the intensice wash comes on and squits masses of fluid over the lights and screen to give them a damn good clean, but yours will just squirt all over if they aren't fitted

The headlamp washers are controlled by a switch inside one of the headlamp wiper motors. If the wipers are in their park position at the end of their sequence, then the washers can't operate.
Once started, the wipers run for a number of wipes, set by a switch and reduction gear inside the wiper motors.
The headlamp wash/wipe system should operate every fifth time the screen washers are operated when the lights are on.
There is some dispute over the number of times the screen washers need to be operated. I've seen the figure put as high as ten.

Only the windscreen gets intensive fluid.
