Today I went to visit a pensioner who had an e30 which he had mentioned. It had been left in a barn for some time due to the chap not being able to drive it anymore (getting in/out was a problem etc).

Obviously curiosity got the better of me so I went to see it :)

All I knew was that it was a 2.5 manual coupe and had been sat for about 2 years.

here is what I found tucked away under sheets in the barn. I checked the oil and it was golden and looked fresh. The battery had charge and amazingly the old girl fired up on the first turn !!!!!

here she is...

And yes that is GENUINE mileage with all paperwork to prove winkeye

I have told the chap I will buy the car and I said I will go home and see how much money i can raise to make him an offer.

Any ideas what its worth ?????

many thanks

will

Nice find! Probably worth around a bag given that it may need some reconditioning after being sat for 2 years.

a little around the rear arch lips - nothing to worry about.

i am planning on giving it a full respray anyway. chrome is in excellent condition

I has already had new wings and bonnet + paint "with paperwork to prove" after somebody reversed into it (only panel damage accross the top/front - (could see no evidence of damage/repair/rust on the front end)

It even has the Original spare tyre UNUSED as are the tools and jack etc !!!

I must admit that when I opened this thread, saw the pics, and then your username, my first reaction was "there should be laws against this"!
My apologies for misjudging you!

haha thank you very much. I must admit Im a very rare breed of classic car lover/drifter LOL

although I have a love for making a car go the wrong way  and thrashing it within an inch of its poor life

I also have a love for classic cars and good quality driving - ie smooth and good road sense.

this car will see no big exhausts, no air filters, just a loving restoration to 100% original spec.

maybe some bbs split rims winkeye

Still some lovely E30`s knocking about in Devon.
I know of a very tidy Black Mtec1 that has sat in a Barn on Haldon for about 3yrs.
Guy will just not part with it sying he is going to put it back on the road one day......yeah right
Also know of a Lachs 325i chromie sat in a field.Has rear blind,OBC,15" BBS`s and looks fairly tidy.Tried numerous times to trace the owner to no avail!
Oh and a manky Green 4 door chromie also in a field, been there about 2 years rotting to its death :D

no stone is unturned by eko !!!!!!

surprised you havent found this one hehe.

I think IIRC you can claim a vehicle by writing to the dvla with the reg/chassis no.

If the registered owner does not object or answer within 60 days or something silly you get the v5 sent to you.

I'm not 100% on this but im sure it works something like that ?
