Right, as some of you know, i have been working on my car for a while now, and spunked lots of money and time at it.
Hopefully now i should have it running at the weekend when i get some more time to work on it, with me moving an all.
Got some pics today but still got lots to do before its roadworthy, still have to weld the drivers side outer wing on and fill, but i left that as i have to flare the arches a tiny bit, and im lazy.. :)

a quick speck of the car.

tial 44mm wastegate open, 50mm tial bov.

650cc RC injectors

huge intercooler

holset hx40

3" downpipe to 2.5 free flow exhaust

equal length manifold

wilwood 280mm brakes

Nice dude!

Atlast....... I can totally understand the waiting game..... been there..... done that......

It WILL BE WORTH IT, mine is, everytime, wooooooooooooosh pssssssssssssst LOL!!!

500bhp??? what's that low boost??? grow some balls man, go for 600+ you've chucked the right parts into it so go for broke! ( I did many times, got the HG's to prove how big my balls are! )

My 9's out back seem a little wimpy now...... and they're only wearing 215's, time for some new tires then!

Also, do you have a buddy over in there that knows all about M50 turbo's? My mates is finished and wants to chat head gaskets with someone, he's having issues with his MLS. Keeps blowing between the layers.

Thanks, Fozz.

hey mark, if i were him having trouble with mls, i would take the head off and send it to be oringed, like i did. :)
least you can still use a standard headgasket.
cost me 240 to have my head oringed, including stripping, and an extra 100 to have it welded. at QEP.
500hp will do me....... for now
if i want more then im gonna get forged pistins and rods and go all the way with a huge turbo. winkeye

Thanks, Fozz.
just remembered mark, andreas at ppf told me with an mls to drill the rivets and split the layers and spray loctite 3020 on each side of each layer then torque the studs to 65ft/lbs and no more than that.
he said he has never had a leak using this method even at over 1100hp.

James had already done that, he used "well seal" between each layer and it stills blows out through the layers. Anything over 12psi blows.

He's only running 1.4bar @ 451bhp so something has to be a little wrong here. I wonder if the head has been wedged when machining? hmmm

I'll suggest the O'ringing when I speak to him tonight, I'll see him Friday anyway, will discuss over a bag of chips down by the sea.

And remember it's a M50B25 but does that make a difference?

na wont make any difference mark, all he will have to do is send the head with a new headgasket (wich he will get back) to QEP and then they can get the wire centred perfectly in the middle of the fire rings on the gasket.
some people get the block done, but its not really viable to do that if nothing is wrong with his motor, because then it has to be stripped down to a bare block, then he would have to rebuild it all over again, and it would be very costly and time consuming, so just pop the head off and send it away, job done!!
it will hold a shite load of boost, and if it does go again, at least its just a standard gasket to quick change.. :D

How does the o-ringing fit in? say on a an M42 engin as probly the same as an M20 theres very little room between the cylinders to take any meet out to add a ring to renforce the gasket? any pics of it done?? :D :D

sorry didnt take pics of it, i was too much in a rush to get it together, but the wire is 1mm thick and it sits around the cylinders 0.7mm deep leaving 0.3 to grip the fire wall of the gasket.

Be good to see this over here at some point. Maybe you could come over for Ace day next year?

It's far too good to scrap, It's had plenty of effort put into it.

(Xbox live has ruined my life, I'm on there all the time lol)

Rossle,

Did they do just the head or head and block?

I spoke to James, he's on the case, he has very talented friends who will look after him.

It's just a pity he's on emerald........

Yeah. All good

She's booked in with Ant at the end of the month for the new injectors and a complete re wiring to try and sort out the cutting off.

Problem now is she's developed a type of miss so I hope its just a spark plug drop and nothing too serious.
