Sorry everyone for slogging a dead post but I haven't been on here lately as I don't have an E30 so there is not much point. Anyway what I put was not abuse it was fact! Sorry to here you have fu*ked it but they don't just go pop on there own! I would like to think you blew it up because of hardcore RPM and arse out action, but it seems you just drove it down the road? So I would say it was lack of oil or improperly serviced! As for me "slating" you! I wasn't, you must have a inferiority complex or somthing as I just pointed out that you don't continue to drive if you smell oil and hear noises. If you had of just pulled the plug out seen the oil on it you may have been able to rebuild the IS lump. As it was clearly in need of help. But because you drove on and flicked a rod out it is now totaly bolloxed! Once again sorry for the distress i must have caused you and your buddys on hear! I shall not bother to try and teach basic mechanics to you ever again! Instead I will take a leaf out of your book, when my car starts to make smells and noises I shall not think "ahh rebuild time" I will just drive on!Nice first post, For you information i only drove the car a couple of miles up the road to my work where i could check to see what the problem was.
Your right about the 6 pot thou, i could punch 6 out, your good at maths
Anyway its easy to slate people on a forum and give over abuse and you probably would not say it to somebodys face.
Mike
P.s Ill take the fiver thou
P.S If I had of been walking passed you where you pulled over I would have said it to your face. As I don't see what I have said is slating you, but mearly expressing my opinion!
P.P.S I have that fiver waiting for the car!
This post was finished a long time ago as was the car, A long time has passed.drifting_max wrote:Sorry everyone for slogging a dead post but I haven't been on here lately as I don't have an E30 so there is not much point. Yes Mike we do need people like him on here because he appears to have a bit more common sense than you (no offence, because i can see you have a hard time dealing with that)
If it did that, stopping for a bit to check stuff out would have hardly stopped the inevitable happening, sympathy would be more useful rather then critisism i think.
um actually it would. if was running bad he might of had a hope of fixing the problem BEFORE it went bang.
however im not mechanic so i would of probaly tought the same thing as him !

Noway! you scrapped it!Mike318i wrote:Ah Ha i dont have a white car anymore, scrapped the Shi*tter
What a waste I'd have had that off you if it came to that.
Easy guys don't pick on the little guy, evidently E30's do die.

At least some people see my point! Anyway why scrap the 318 it looks quite clean! just put a better and bigger engine in, like you said you were going to do! I'm sure with a little time and a 2.5 lump it could make a very nice car. But you have now said it's just an old E30 anyway. so you clearly don't have any intention of owning another! So Mike318 why are you even on this forum?Martinaston wrote:Yes Mike we do need people like him on here because he appears to have a bit more common sense than you (no offence, because i can see you have a hard time dealing with that)
You should think befor you type! Most people reading this love the E30's. They are not just old cars not worth saving, as you obviously think!

there's nothing dirty about my engine
1.6 is cheap to insure and makes the car appealing to a larger groupe of buyers for a faster sale

I suppose that's true, though you could put a 1.8 M40 in and it costs the same to insure!Martinaston wrote:there's nothing dirty about my engine![]()

Only messing though, obviously I've got a 1.6 M40 myself
Karan if you want it and going to collect it is the problem I can towbar it up here and keep it at my house for the two weeks if you like? If it saves it from the breakers then I can make room....
