Turns out that these electric Superchargers where first thought up back in the 60's!

but they also came up with things like this....

You mean the cheap ones you see on ebay that look like a computer's cooling fan?
You'd be better off burning your money. At least it would keep you warm, thus serving some purpose.

You could set up some kind of money-fueled boiler to heat up water and use the compressed steam to power a turbo!
Not in E30s any more :(
