Hi,

I'm not so pro for m-tech2 replica's but it seems that they are becoming too expensive, so I'd like to know:

what's their fitment like?
I know the front parts are 1 single piece and not the common known 2 pieces, but does it fit? Replacement or do you have to install it over the original bumper? sidewings etc how do they look ?

or are they poor fitment and quality?

kits like this:

i brought a full replica tech-2 kit (used) for £100,
the front and rear bumpers use your existing bumper parts,
and they fit fine,

and the doorpods? as this (on the originals) do have their way to be connected to the doors. Did they use the exact same thing on the replica?

Surely the couple of hundred quid you save buying a f/g kit will be wasted fukking about trying to get it to fit properly or paying a bodyshop to do so?

How much is yer average f/g kit new?

It's called Fibre-Gash for a reason. Shares a lot in common with Rice Krispies: Snap Crackle and Pop!

i had a fiber glass front and back which never got fully fitted to the car but on test fits it was fine.

the back craked SO many time though. once its on and secure i think it would be ok.

sold my front bumper for £50 and rear for £20 to a guy for his track car. that is the best thing for them i think. dont pay £100 for one thats just robbing you blind in my opinion.

They are pretty shite imo. My first e30 had one on it. The side pods just dont look right as they curve in and the front bumper fit was shocking.

Reckon someone could easily turn out proper two piece replicas if they got a mould though. Its not exactly a complicated design.

ok guys, tnx for your constructive feedback! it's very appreciated.

I guess (i don't like puzzles) it's better to start collecting pieces and so complete a kit ;)

ive worked on a few e30s with the fiberglass kit and they were all terrible. the bad fit and finish will far outweigh the few hundred you save on a geniuine one. and if the cars any way lowered and you hit the front off of something (which you will) its all over for the front part
