jesus wept, I clipped a smallish chunk of wood in the road with my driver side rear wheel at about 60mph, I couldnt see it because of the road it's up and down. I came over the brow of the hill and suddenly, bang, all i heard was lots of wind etc, I thought it had done something to the car body, pierced it etc, then trying to climb another hill I found that something really was up, the revs were high but no acceleration, I pulled over in a safe layby to find that the inner wall of my tyre had a 50p size hole in it! I was in utter amazement at the amount of damage!!!
lesson to be learnt... dont buy crap tyres
p.s these were on the car when I got it
crappy tyres

Hi all, i used be a tyre fitter and i can vouch that cheaper branded tyres are a false economy. they can wear faster and make u sh4t urself when u drive in the wet above 15mph. not sayin that all budget brands are like that as i know of lot of people who swear by the likes of nankangs etc. if you spend decent money then u will be rewarded by safe and confident road holding.
says the person with cheapy champiro tyres!!!! lol, mot was due and all 4 were iffy and i was skint so thats my excuse!
whats everybody's opinion on performance tyres, anybody with recommendations? personally i like the toyo t1s as they last reasonably well and stick to the road, goodyear eagle f1 is my next choice, aside from the fact i can get them cheap. anyway im off to pack because im leaving for maxpower live to work at motorworld's stall. will post up the piccys on my return.

Bridgestone all the way.
I've Potenza RE720s on my motor, they'd smash wood into pulp before puncturing, and they're the best gripping tyre I've used (and I've used most tyres at one time or another).
Oh, and they can even make decent F1 tyres.

Once driven, forever smitten.
Direct injection, turboed, intercooled, 16 valves giving a whopping 48.5hp/litre!!
