All i can say is good luck getting a 524td manifold, extremly rare as it wasn't brought out in this country. Apparently the engine was often used in land rovers so you might get some luck from that. Have a look in the forced induction links section to see all forced induction links, some of the sites tell you how much you'll gain, what are the drawbacks, where they went wrong, etc.jimmyg_e30 wrote:hey all was looking for info an turboing my e30 using the 524tds manifold and a t3 turbo seems to be done a bit in the usa has anyone ever done this....what gains should i expect
Start there and come back to us, p.s a 325td/525td manifold will fit but the flange isn't T3. Thats with alot of modification to the bolt holes, but none to the actual ports.

Just a thought: Didn't the Vauxhall Omega 2.5 diesel use a BMW engine?
Not sure if there was a turbo version, or even if there are any similarities between that and the M20, but might be worth a look?
In terms of gains to be expected, it depends largely on the boost you run, which in turn depends on how much you spend on things like intercooling and engine management etc.

it did indeed mate, it whas the 2.5 out of the 525td. so was NOT INTERCOOLED-sometimes that leads to problems as it heats up the components....Turbo-Brown wrote:Just a thought: Didn't the Vauxhall Omega 2.5 diesel use a BMW engine?

Shouldn't be a problem if you're only after the exhaust manifold.

Can confirm that a manifold off a omega TD does fit. Even has bmw casting on it.
