Making a plate for either side of the bulkhead, adapting a E34 brake pull rod, mods to the back of the glovebox, and an extension or completely new fabbed bracket from the transmission tunnel.

Is it easier to use a smaller servo? If so,what is the current recommendation?

Servo from the plastic winged Clio seems to be the current preferred option, but, smaller servo = more braking effort required.

Here's the clio servo on the right next to standard E30 servo, never measured the difference in size. The clio servo although smaller in diameter is actually deeper than the E30 one.

yeah you can use a smaller servo with a M50 conversion but with the s50 conversion you have to use a small servo plus move it over and inch to clear the intake plenum.daimlerman wrote:Is it easier to use a smaller servo? If so,what is the current recommendation?
also cheers for the info guys. more work than i though but shouldn't be to much hassle.

On my S50 touring that Dameon (old_skool) built, he used a mk2 golf 1.3 servo and moved the position accross 44mm.
Alot more braking effort is needed from the right foot!
