oops.

trying to sell a car and i cant find the mot certificate  there is not much mot left on the car but i still need to sell it with the slip.

is there way to get a copy or with them being stored on a computer now or can I at least find out the exact end date?

been moving house and buying and selling too many cars, what a plum.

you can go to an mot station and they should print you a duplicate
not sure if there is any charge though

You can find the current end date on the net. I've done it many times, but I can't remember the exact details at the moment.
Stick a new ticket on it and sell it with a 13 month one. Should stick a lot more than the £40 or so for the ticket onto the selling price.

cracking ideas!

i will search the net for the site you mention Brain, i didnt think it was available to the general public :D

i really wanted to sell the car with a full mot but i always fear how much work the mot might need. its my girlfriends car that i have not played with too much and have no love for it at all.

would rather be sorting out the mx5 in honesty.

so do i get the certificate from an mot place? or put a full MOT on it? hum £700 car will sell much better with mot. i just want it gone as i dont have time for 2 cars and a project car :(

Yes all you will need to do is take your reg doc to the mot station they can search from document number and may need it for proof of ownership.

You could take it for an mot but if it failed you would be looking at wasting the mot money.

Don't forget if you car has more then 1 months M.O.T left on it, you'll lose the extra month.

It would then be 12 months instead of 13.

You can get it done anywhere that does M.O.Ts, as it's all kept on a centralised database by the DVLA or whoever.

Iif you think it would pass I would just go and place 12 months on it.

I took mine to Steeles 'cos they got £10 off at the moment. :) I got a nice litte Steeles sleeve to keep it in too.
