Hopefully all being well I'll get my engine about 90-100% rebuild tomorrow afternoon when I get home from work.
When taking the old timing belt off it was really tight between the cover and the crank pulley.
Is there a knack to sliding it on past this as I dont want to damage it?

it's an easy fit mate, just put the new 1 on the way the old 1 came off, dont worry you wont dammage it at all.
