Yes, but I'm paranoid of getting stone chips on this one now.

Hence the extra laquer and bonet bra, I also am in between sorting the other car layering up Zaino polish on the bonnet because it contains UVA and UVB filters, its like sun cream for your car! :D

It is actually that good looking I was considering that. 8)

Seems a shame to fit it, but I must. I will though have to get a bonnet bra, I hate the things but I need to protect this bonnet given the cost of the damn thing.

Right now I've offset 10kg at the front I can put on another 10kg and not affect weight distribution! Now where are those alloy arms?

Hi march109,

I was reading the start of your post almost thinking the worst! It can only go two ways, Good or Bad! But im really glad its got to you ok!

We have been having problems with postage from Day one, its so hard to get these delivery drivers to be careful with these parcels, and because of the size and the very light weight of them they tent to think theres something strong in there! (not sure why!) I think that im going to speak with Mark and source some shock indicating parcel labels as used on expensive equipment like these bonnets!

Im Glad you are happy with the finish and thank you for posting up the first positive Review! It really does help a lot when people recommend products via word of mouth!

I Have been using my bonnet for almost a year and a half, and the lacquer at the leading edge of the bonnet has held up really well! In fact there are almost no stone chips there and ive done several Track days, ring trips, and about 5k miles on the road, but as you have said i think its a brilliant idea to add a few extra layers of lacquer so that you can 'polish' any chips out. Also to add that this Lacquer has UV protectors in it so is able to with stand prolonged exposure to the sun, but like any other body panel it does need to be cared for to prolong its beauty.

If you need any help with anything just give me or Mark a pm and will get back to you ASAP.

Andrew

No worries at all here Andrew, it really is minty mint, I just want to give it a good polish and some good protection to help it last and hopefully it won't clash too bad with Delphin Grey paint!

Update on the 'nail', its actually reflecting light again which is nice (and doesn't suck in the summer sun like a black hole any more!) and the spoiler is refitted too. Shame I'm getting rid it would look loverly with a CF bonnet.

My advanded cleaning guide can be found here:
http://www.e30zone.net/e30zonewiki/inde ... ning_Guide
But basically this is what I will be following to get the car clean and protected and also provide pics for the article.

Step1. Make up the foam and a cuppa char.

Image

Step2. Rinse -> -> Snow foam - First hit was a bit 'thin'

Image
Image

Step3. Rinse again - starting to look ok.

Image
Image

Step4. Foam again and Megs Wheel cleaner - thicker setting and more mixture too

You'll all have to wait until tomorrow to see the final result because I'm giving up on this car for the day.

Right where are we? ok small update time

Bought a new set of rear camber and toe correction plates:
Image

Also pulled 220.9 on Fritz' rollers, but not a happy bunny. (well happy with 220, but its still not running right!)

I will also type up the spec of my 2.9 soon too, since it would help having it all in one place for me and might make an interesting read to some types.

My rear isn't strictly legal. But you can buy road legal ones exactly the same from www.dubmeister.co.uk click on the road legal link, I have a set of non-legal and road legal ones unfortunatly I bought the non legal ones a week before dubmeister released the road legal ones the only difference is the maker name and postcode laser etched on the plate, this means they conform to the relevent rules and regs as they are already made from a CE approved material and in a UK font and are reflective. Haven't changed them over yet.

Who mapped the unichip?
A while ago you mentioned that you could make an airbox/plenum from c/f?
Would you still be up for doing that?

TBH not sure who mapped it but I'm not impressed, last time it was dynoed the power was near enough the same but fuelling was better (according to the person who mapped it). Now the fuelling is all over the place and its probably not safe to keep driving it like that IMO. Nothing has changed in the meantime so either the first people didn't do it right or the piggy back is at fault.

Think standalone is the way forward since I want to do more mods.

I could make a CF airbox, not sure on size and specs you need would probably be done using lost foam so it would be a one off. And its hit and miss on if its the right shape. It would have to be very thick also so not very cheap, but it would look awesome.

^ mine is running on ms and I have no quabbles with it. Cold start is fine and it drives fine all of the time (no det or obvious flat spots). It is running rich but the engine is still very much running in. I know it gets alot of stick but I highly recommend it for our old boat anchor beasts :D

Aha but theres where your wrong, I didn't pay anything for it. Thats the beauty of buying a car half built by someone else.

Snowfoam is by far the most fun toy I've bought this year, and has paid for itself, the neighbours get me to do their cars and since its the only wash they normally get they are pleased with the results of a foaming alone, I don't even bother to wash after, just foam and rince twice then dry, few free beers and thank you very much not bad for 10minutes actual work. Glad I'm moving though its getting on my tits. :D

I am now March109 1 Sport and not March109 2 Sports.

Sold the black one (well traded) to fund my shiney wheel obsession, and before it fell into more disrepair. The new owner a zoner promises to have her on the road again and I can't wait.

Who says you can't sell a car on the zone (and it didn't have MOT or TAX!)
