in the end the paint mix was a bit different shade (a bit lighter), but it still looks good in metal.

FYI, where i come from i have seen a E30 M10 swapped into a Toyota 5K/7K (im not sure about specifics) engine, and another with a 3SGTE engine. the former is a extremely reliable and fuel-efficient engine, while the latter is a four banger turbo, quite fast IMHO, was used in a celica, swapped the gearbox into a RWD, not sure what gearbox used though, very cheap too about USD1000-1400 all in...
nothing wrong with swapping engine from different continents, im all for nostalgic feeling, BMW has created engines that has character, just right for their cars.
oh btw, if you are thinking of swapping in a 1JZ/2JZ, be careful of the weight, im not sure its lighter than a M50/S52. could have understeer problem if not corrected.

ok well i have just checked the site out and i thought i would contact them, so i hit the contact us button and came the page to write your details and a message. So i did that and to find there is no send or a button to get the message to them !! . so how are you meant to get in contact with them if you cannot send your message ?
they look like jokers if you ask me !
they look like jokers if you ask me !
thats odd, i just check the Contact Us page. They do have a send button on the right lower corner, just below the message box... maybe your browser isn't showing it for some reason. its a small orange button with a SEND written on it.

I have been talking with this guy for a while, trying to get the full story on his site, i am a bit worriedabout sending money overseas... but he has a paypay account so you can hold the funds until the product arrives. and he is on ebay.co.uk selling these as well, search for 1jz or 2jz and he pops up... from what i can make out he is an english expat now living in northern thailand... he also sells motorbike fairing kits, I have googled other bike pages and seen that he does deliver and the kits are good...
Given all this information I still havent run the risk of buying the kit from him... if anyone does or has brought something off him please let me know, I really really want to buy the 1JZ kit for my E30, run a nice little T4 on it at 400hp or so and happy times.
I will attach his email below

Nelson,
Hi there, I don’t have any customer testemonials because I never thought about that? I can ask a few customers if they mind if I pass out there email addresses to you. If they say yes that is no problem. My Phone number is 0066841270741 (thai number). My address here is K-Conversions, 84/159 Moo Baan Chottana, Chottana Road, Chiang Puak, A.Muang, Chiang Mai, 50300, Thailand.
I understand that you don’t want to be scammed out of your money but I assure you that all you will get is a huge smile from ear to ear when you install my conversion kit.
Ideally I would like you to mail me your engine and power looms, but to be honest it may be cheaper for me to source one here. As I just had a customer send a Nissan 180sx loom from the UK and it cost 80GBP to send.
The engine loom will come with the engine, then we will require an E30 engine and power loom, we will mate the loom here so to make for an easy install on your side.
The basic install kit is 1850GBP. If you want a single turbo kit installed and tuned here that is no problem. Do you want a straight T4 (Garrett ar.50) or would you like a Greddy TD06-25G or a T67-25G or Holset HX40 or something similar. We have a T4 turbo that has just had a rebuild on the shelf for 300GBP, the Greddy turbo or T67 or HX40 will be around the 500GBP mark. A stainless steel header with braces to avoid manifold cracks are 200GBP for the six cylinders and external wastegates start from 50GBP-150GBP depending on your preference of makes.
Also, with installing the single turbo you will need to think about management. Would you like me to source you a piggyback ecu or a standalone ecu. Something like Trust Emanage will cost approx. 150gbp, the apexi power fc 450gbp, haltech e8 700gbp. All will cost 125gbp to tune.
Yes you will need an electric fan installed. You will also require an intercooler. If we install the engine here to road test and run for you we charge 200GBP (labour). If you want it dynoed with power graph that will be another 250GBP (the reason this is expensive is it will be a 1500km round trip to the dyno and back). We can also make intercooler pipes and radiator pipes for you.
If you would like to place an order or if there is anything I have missed or if you have any other questions please mail me back.
Thanks,
Kish

Hi,
Can I pay by credit card? Also where can I view your customers testimonials, as I am a little worried about buying over the internet with no phone numbers or physical business address advertised.
Please understand, I am very interested but I do not want to be scammed out of my hard earned money.
Does the modified loom come labeled or attached to the engine already? I would look to have a single turbo and external wastegate fitted in your shop prior to sending it, Noting Big or silly, a T04 would be fine. Is cooling taken care of with electric fan conversion?

Nelson,
Hi there, we can supply you with the E30-1JZGTE manual 5 speed conversion basic install kit for 1850. The time frame all depends on what you want as I will explain. But if you want just the basic install in can be ready in 2 weeks from receipt of funds. Shipping takes 27days at a cost of approx.
300GBP.
The E30 -1JZGTE(manual 5speed) basic install kit includes:
SUPRA 1JZ-GTE (2500cc twinturbo)
1JZ-GTE manual 5 speed gearbox
Custom engine and gearbox mounts
Custom cross member
Custom propshaft
Custom wiring harness
All our engines are sourced from japan and are compression tested. If you want we offer an engine rebuild service for 200GBP! This is extremely cheap for an engine rebuild but I am able to do this as in Thailand the labour costs are low. The engines will be checked as follows:
engine stripped and rebuilt will new piston rings, main and shell bearings, cylinder head and cylinder block will be stripped down and resurfaced. The valve seats will be recut and valves reseated, everything will be checked and the engine is put back together. We bench run the engine for an hour before its ready to be sent out, but you will still need to run the engine in for 1000kms).
Once the basic install kit is installed you can choose from a whole host of turbo kits, injectors, inlet plenums, intercoolers, cams, pistons etc. and we can install it all here if you want, including installing it into an E30/E36, running it in and tuning the engine including road and dyno tuning with power graphs to prove HP and torque.
Alternatively you can tell us your budget and we can work out the best path for you to take, keeping in mind future upgrades.
We also have reconditioned race engines for sale.
We don’t include the cooling systems in the basic install as these are aftermarket products...
Water Cooling kit 1
Aluminium Radiator with hard pipes
250GBP +P&P
Intercooler kit 1
Large front mount intercooler with hard pipes
250GBP
Once the basic kits are installed you need to start thinking about Diff and brakes. I can offer a large range of new and used 2 way LSD Diffs.
Reasonably priced second hand but very good condition performance parts are usually the way we steer people. But if you want new parts that is not a problem.
We can source you a Kazz, Nismo, Tomei or Cusco 2 way diff. then make custom mounts for it, custom prop shaft and spacers to connect it to your existing drive shafts.
Based on you getting a Skyline GTR 4.1 LSD the LSD diff kit is 450GBP (for a Kazz, Nismo, Tomei or Cusco 2 way diff please add another 200GBP)
Brakes, We offer a skyline GTR brakes package which includes Front 280mm Disks and 4 pot caliper conversion and rear 280mm disks and single pot GTR caliper and custom mounting brackets. Still keeping your standard stud PCD.
This kit also includes a Nissan master cylinder and servo : 450GBP.
If you want more than one of the kits or you want a custom setup I can come to a better price for you.
Then on from there we can do a number of things. If you want we can build you a race engine and tune it here for you. We can include piggyback ECUs like Greddy E-Manage or complete standalone ECUs (haltech, Apexi, HKS).
We have 2 top tuner here that will dedicate there time to perfecting your fuel and ignition maps. Saving you potentially 100s or even 1000s of pounds on tuning bills. As here in Thailand where we are based the labour charges are lower so we are able to offer you an unbeatable service for an unbeatable price.
Which of the items would you be interested in and if there is anything that I haven’t mentioned that you would like or are thinking about please mail me back and let me know.
Regards,
Kish

I think he once advertised an engine kit on here, and seemed genuine enough. Not sure if anyone bought it though, it's easy to understand your scepticism. I'd go for it personally, from his emails he comes across very well.kiwinelson wrote:I have been talking with this guy for a while, trying to get the full story on his site, i am a bit worriedabout sending money overseas... but he has a paypay account so you can hold the funds until the product arrives. and he is on ebay.co.uk selling these as well, search for 1jz or 2jz and he pops up... from what i can make out he is an english expat now living in northern thailand... he also sells motorbike fairing kits, I have googled other bike pages and seen that he does deliver and the kits are good...

Think this would be a incredible build, because you have the looks of a old skool german car coupled togther with the incredible power and precision of a jap engine and running gear.
Good luck, hope he is really genuine becuase im going to want to do this converison in a year or two.

If you are worried about loading out for the big stuff like the 1JZ engine for example and the R154 gearbox then maybe look closer to home. Then just buy any of the custom bits from the guy overseas.
The 1JZ is found in grey import MK3 supras, but these are very rare over here. They are also found in the wonderful Toyota Soarer twin-turbo model of which there are a few about, people also breaking them on ebay here. Soarers along with other large engined vehicles are really suffering with their values. The V8's because of thirst and twin-turbos the same, plus having to run them on super unleaded only, the V8 is happy on regular 95 (thank god).
1JZ is also found in the Toyota Chaser, but they are very rare.
The R154 gearbox is found in UK MK3 supra turbos, they tend to sell for between £150-£300. They are quite sought after as they really are tough old boxes, so get used on all sorts of conversions. The 3.0 non-turbo supra manual has the W58 gearbox I believe and it is not as strong. Same box is found in the MK4 non-turbo manual supra.

I have been bleating on about doing such a conversion for years, but would personally go with the 7M-GTE lump out of the UK MK3 Supra Turbo as these engines are like a truck engine in terms of torque.
My brother has a rough looking MK3 turbo supra and it embarasses quite a few things through the gears

K conversions have a few engines on ebay at the moment, 100% feedback too.

Right got some news back, the man behing K Conversions seems genuine enough, the work isnt carried out himself, he has few thai locals who carry out the work, the quality does vary but impression i got its not dangerously poor either.
However if there is an issue with a supplied engine its going to be a lot of hassle to sort out, the delivery and charges sending stuff to him and back makes the whole conversion not as cheap or fast as you'd expect purely becuase shipping the bits around the world takes time upto 3 months in some unfortunate cases.
If i was to do such conversion i would source the engine here in the UK plenty about to choose from prices for a 1JZ from £300 if lucky or you can buy complete running car to break from £1,000 and easily make your money back through other parts such as suspension, wheels, trims. There is Jap breakers here who can supply the engine from £700+ if you dont want the hassle of breaking a car. If not capable of carrying out conversion yourself someone like A-Tech would be more than capable of a quality conversion whoever you buy the kit from.
