Some genuine sports were sold with the boot badge. Not all though. It may have been a dealer addition. None as far as I know came with the grille badge. I'm sure Barrys came with the boot badge from new.

Ah, capital letters. You can't argue with that, but perhaps you could share your source with us?320ise wrote:its not! the 325i sport was built in the m factory. FACT.

Well wowee capital letters, maybe you ought to tell BMW of your interesting fact since they don't even know where the M factory seems to be themselves.
E30 M3 manufactured BMW's Garching plant
E36 M3 manufactured BMW`s Regensburg plant
E28 M5 manufactured Rosslyn, South Africa or Garching, Germany
E34 M5 manufactured BMW's Garching, Germany plant
E39 M5 manufactured BMW's Dingolfing, Germany plant
I could go on, but I believe that is enough to proove you are full of horse shite.

no i dont know where the factory is! but i read an article in a bmw mag and it said that 325i sport 850csi and a few others were not built in the std factory but one of the M factorys it refered to is as "the m division factory not so far away from the std factory" i know i dont have the best description of where the m factory is but am just stating what ive read, do you know for a fact that sports were a std build? as the shells were stronger round the strut tops and galvanised etc wernt they?
the shell is no different to a normal e30 shell, get your facts right . even the e30 M3 has no extra strenghtening to a normal e30.320ise wrote: do you know for a fact that sports were a std build? as the shells were stronger round the strut tops and galvanised etc wernt they?

How do you explain all the M cars being built more or less at different factories then?320ise wrote:no i dont know where the factory is! but i read an article in a bmw mag and it said that 325i sport 850csi and a few others were not built in the std factory but one of the M factorys it refered to is as "the m division factory not so far away from the std factory" i know i dont have the best description of where the m factory is but am just stating what ive read, do you know for a fact that sports were a std build? as the shells were stronger round the strut tops and galvanised etc wernt they?
More rubbish, this is as bad as the is crew spouting their galvanised tripe. No e30 to my knowledge was ever galvanised unless done privately.
Secondy sports recieved no extra strengthening, the ix had different strut tower geometry but that was it. The sport shell was identical in every way to every other standard (316, 318, 320, 325 ect ect) shell, furthermore the sport was merely a tarted up 325i with aero kit and bolt on wonders to increase sales in the UK and other territories. Thats why there is no such thing as a 325i Sport in Germany.

where were they built then? and if you dont know for 100% that they were a std build dont be ignorant to other peoples views, i might have got my wires crossed it may have said that they were designed by m divison but never got the badge (non branded m car). and even if they wernt they still deserve the badge because its the top of the range nearest to M uk e30 you can own!

This happens to me sometimes Gareth. You write a nice long reply on something and it never posts and escourts you back to the homepage. Never found out why. It does it about once every couple of months. Really annoying when you are in the process of shutting someone down.

There're some words which, when combined with spaces, seem to have this affect. Just hoping to narrow it down....Jon_Bmw wrote:This happens to me sometimes Gareth. Sports are just common-or-garden 2-door E30's with options boxes ticked.
