I've finally got round to dropping the M50 in this afternoon.

Bit of a ball ache of a job doing this on your own, but it is in the bay.

The problem is the engine mounts are miles off!

The engine came from an E34 and I assume it still sports the E34 mounts/arms.

I got E28 M5 mounts from zimmerbimmer.

One side is square shape (driver side) the other side is round, kind of looks like an M20 mount.

But the stud protruding out the mount is about an inch away from the hole on the arm.

Is this a common obsticle or should I just get the box of matches out now as i've had a gut full today

If it's dry tomorrow i may have a bash when I get in from work.

cheers dude

Still got to chase that bloke about the manifolds as it's pretty soon gonna be holding us both up :( :(

There's nothing that shouts "Poor Workmanship" more than wrinkles in the Gaffer tap

you have to use the e30 arms, best to get the arms from a later e36, use the outer holes on the crossmember , grind off the small stud on the bottom of the rubbers mounts, i made a mark on the side of the mounts inline with the stud, and had the marks facing inwards across the member to line the engine up..

No need to grind anything, if you do you have more chance of miss-alignment
