Sup Guys,
Ive recently had my Steering rack re-con'd and the steering is shyte at high speed, normal at normal town driving, get it on the M-Way and its as light as a feather and pretty jumpy too..
Im getting all the bushes underneath done soon and its got brand new alloys on and tyres so it sint them..this is a steering problem IMO..
I dont think the bushes or tracking would make this steering feel so light or be so loose at speed.
Any Ideas????
Carl
Question for the masses regarding my steering..

Nope,as i havnt had the work done yet on the bushes.
Once its done i will get the tracking done, this wouldnt make the steering feel 'light' though would it?
I had to slow down as it felt dangerous and felt like didnt have complete controll of the steering..
only way i can describe it is:
Very light when slight turning at speed, steering wheel will jump slightly from left to right...im hoping that the bushes and the tracking done is the problem but i DONT think it is..
none of the things i know needs doing will canuse this would it?

Had the same on my touring - steering was a bit vague and the car seemed to jump sideways on bumps at speed. The front ball joints were split so I've just had new wishbones put on (garage said they couldn't push the ball joints out of the old wishbones
) and it does seem a bit better. However, garage said I need to go back and get the tracking done again when the bushes have settled down
.
Your problem could also be linked to the new wheels....
I would also get underneath and check the stabilizer bar and coil springs
Good luck
