Hello,

Google informs me these existed at some point, does anyone know if they're still available to purchase?

Yeah they were on the pre 1987 cars with chrome inserts in the bumpers and the thinner rear lights, check the for sale section and Ebay

The later lights give a better light output and can be converted to HID though.

ok scrub the above post, now leaning towards fitting 5.75" cibie lights, I've been informed that 5.75 do fit as it was an requirement in the American market - but has anyone actually fitted lights like these, how much of a fiddle is it?

if u fit the inner ones on the outside u will loose the low beam illumination, and the hella h4s r available in the same size as the cibies, hella australia and hella new zealand carry them as well as the other bmw specific globes.
