If we're talkonh heavy fuel economy this car really win's the prize....

When I was using it as an everyday car it was averaging 8.6mpg,ace car with every extra under the sun including aircon! Came with full SH,was virtually mint, and all for Ԛ£240,when I started using it i soon realised why it was so cheap
The staggering fuel costs!
I then got my 318 which although was a heap was reliable and did about 1000,000 mpg!
Tried to sell the Volvo, but with it's 2.7 V6 nobody wanted it,no suprise!
She now resides in a museum,I ended up donating it to them, apparantly it's a very rare car.
Was great whilst I had it,and I do miss it,was like driving a Roller and always got a lot of attention wherever I drove it.

I took my best mate out for a blast in her before I gave it to the museum, put a tenner in it,went out for a 15 minute thrash, came back with the fuel light back on!
Was shocking the rate it drink fuel! Had HUGE torque though and wasn't that slow either believe it or not!
BTW the book MPG was only 19mpg tops on a run! 13mpg urban they rekoned, yeah ok!

I've never seen my warning light as the car will start miss firing with the gauge showing in the red.
At least it doesn't just conk out all of a sudden,it gives you a good few miles warning.

Mines not quite so generous in the miss firing warning, once it starts to do that,if theres no petrol station within the next 500 metres,I'm gonna be walking the rest of the way!Andy335Touring wrote:I've never seen my warning light as the car will start miss firing with the gauge showing in the red.

Think i have done around 40 miles with the ligh on as well, was trying really hard though as i was in mid wales at about 3o'clock in the morning and the nearest open petrol station was 40 miles away!
One thing to not though, it far better to have your tank fuller up, as then you have far more of a chance to get cheaper petrol, than if its empty all the time and youhave to just make do with whats ever closest, that is unless you know exactly where the petrol station is.

According to the BMW handbook that came with my 325i SE it says that when the light comes on, there is approx. 6 litres left in tank. The fuel pick-up is a the lowest part of the tank, so you shouldn't be anymore likely to get crap in filter than with normal amount of fuel in tank.
