No idea what a "knot sensor" is, but this car doesn't have one.

The only thing the oil pressure sensor does is light a lamp on the dash.
It should start even if there was no oil in it, but wouldn't run for long though.

Tel
The crank sensor is the single most important sensor on the engine.
If it is faulty, there will be no sparks and no fuel pump. Whatever was disconnected on your engine, it wasn't the CPS.

The starter inhibit switch disconnects the starter motor, so it wouldn't turn over.

the cps is connected ok, but im getting spark and fuel, so dont know,..

the only glimmer of hope i have is the dizzy, took another look at it after i decided not to replace today, but it looks pretty worn in there, some ridges in the pins and corosion on them too....lets hope when i get the new one that is the prob.....the sparks do look a bit wimpy at the minute, so maybe not sparking under compression

other wise :surrender:

ps if this doesnt work i was serious when i asked if anyone wanted it. its got 11 months mot and six months tax....must be worth something to someone

You've said that you are getting fuel injected?
You've said you're getting sparks?
Then, unless something catastropic has happened, like a broken cambelt, it should at least fire.
You are missing something very basic somewhere. It doesn't take much to make an engine run after a fashion.
Get a can of "easy start" or something similar for starting reluctant deisels, or a what I use, a plumber's type blowlamp running from a 4.5kg cylinder, with the shroud and jet removed.
Remove the flexible hose between the air meter and the throttle body and squirt the ether or propane directly into the open throttle while trying to start it. If it fires up you have a fuel problem. If it doesn't you have an ignition problem (or fuel fouled plugs).

thats why it really annoying, everything seems to be in order for it to run. so can see no reason why it wouldnt,. checked cam belt is fine and looks in good condition, and is fully operational.

Chase the fault untill you find it! It'll turn out to be something simple, and you'll learn a lot about engines in the process.
I'd guarentee I'd nail this one in a couple of hours in my workshop. Engines just aren't that complicated.
Next step is to make sure the plugs are clean, and to feed it propane, while making sure it isn't getting any petrol, to check out the overfueling possibility.
