It's odd because usually you look and think you will change your car for a newer one, but I think one day I'll go backwards, get one of these and do something really special with it. Great cars if looked after and styled correctly.

Those piccys are giving me dirty thoughts!!! How much can you pick a good e21 up at and what sort of power are they? Do they come with an LSD?

Have you joined bmwe21.net, and how are you doing the sparks with the webers.

a good 323i is 2k plus
a good 316 £500
LSD were a rare option normally £300 plus used

no i haven't joined e21.net. I didn't know they existed

I'm new to these forum things. I used to be a bmw club member back in the early 90's but the attitude was shit so I gave up on groups. You lads seem cool enough so mabye its time for me to try again. E21 jason is right about the costs but that isn't the problem. Finding an example like mine that is rust free from new is. I will tell you that it will cost you more than 2k for mine. I once turned down 10,000 at a car show. But that hasn't stopped people from nocking on my door from time to time trying to buy it.

Oh yeah power wise your looking at 143lbs tourqe and 140 bhp for the 323 and 110bhp and 123 lbs for a 78 320i.
top speed in my 323 as stock is 127mph with the 3 speed auto but my other 323 with the five speed I was able to make the needle come around to 0 again after 140mph. I did just finish spending 4000 rebuilding the engine and drive train though.

The e21 was my first car and I have spent 16 years looking for one just like this. I'll never sell.

I'd personaly rather have the old SD1 next to it
I used to run a twin turbo V8 one of those back in the early ninetys

That's a lush car. An E21 323i was my first BMW and my favourite so far. What an amazing soundtrack it had after 4000rpm !!
