I've seen it done on many cars. They use a fibreglass mould for inside the wheelwell with a mdf top.

Is there any particular reason for making a sub to fit the spare wheelwel ? i found the easiest way to get bass through from the boot on my saloon was to just buy an enclosed sub with amp attatched to the back of the sub box, open up the ski hatch panel on the bulkhead (doesnt affect regidity) then make 2 holes in the rear seat back and glue in 2 aluminium ports, my car is only a 4 seater anyway, if i need to use the boot i just unplug the amp and take the box out and the bass is pretty good in the car too winkeye

Most people do it 'cos it's neat and tidy and out the way!! No need to be taking out a big sub box and having it in your living room, every time you want to use the boot!!!

Fibreglass with an MDF top is deffo the way to go - although never done it myself!!!!

If any one id worried about space, Rockford have just brought out a slim box, in a 10 and 12" they are only about 6" deep!!!! and i have heard them and are very good as you would expect from rockford. i will have some more in at the end of the month.

The rockfords are quality!!!!!!

I've got some 5" subs i was about to squeeze into a mk1 MR2 - if you've ever been in one, you'll know how small they are!!!! Rockford do the new 10" sub in a box designed to fit behind the top half of the mk1 MR2 seats!!!!! Well smart and very small!!!!! If i had the money, i would have bought a pair there and then - but it made me stop and think about doing something clever to get in some 12's i already have!!! We shall see!!!

Doing any good discount on them to zoners Kam???? Can't spend the money on them at the mo really though!!

Im sure i can sort somthing out for zoners, im putting two in a mk4 golf this week, in the floor!!! raising the floor hiding the amps under there two, so when you open the boot all you will see is two subs. should look quite good. winkeye i might have a 7 series in too, might be putting 4 10" on the shelf!!!
