2.7 2.8 Conversion/ Pre- facelift.

Before i delve too deeply into this/these, is the above suitable on a an early high comp (?) engine. Also how happy are the owners of this conversion with their cars, i.e with hindsight would they have gone for a complete engine transplant instead? Looking for more torgue rather than top end speed really. Thanks.
