4 x 108 to 4 x 100 ADAPTORS IS THERE SUCH A THING???????

HI GUYS.. IVE RECENTLY BOUGHT SOME ALLOYS FOR MY E30 AND DISCOVERED THEY ARE 4 X 108 IS THERE SUCH THINGS AS ADAPTORS OR SPECIAL WHEELS NUTS SO I CAN FIT THEM ON THE CAR??? THANX

if you want to trust them they will. ive been advised against using similar things.

why would you not reccomend using them? are they not safe?

ive never used them i was advised not to but to get the correct wheels to start with.plus fitting an adapter will alter the offset perhaps allowing the tyres to rub on the arches. willl the offset of your wheels allow for the fitting of these?

bearing in mind so called specialists have blatantly lied to me in the past there might be nothing whatsoever wrong with ththese adapters.

If you order them from the States you get raped on postage, and if you order in the UK they're about 40quid each. Is it really worth it, even if they are safe?

I don't know how the hubs are mounted on BMWs, but can you take the hubs, bearings and discs from a different BMW, or do none of them have a 4x108 PCD? What wheels are they anyway?

i dont think bmw have a 4 x 108 fitment and i myt aswell give the adaptors a try

I have used a similar design to this (but worse quality/design!) on my off road jeeps. Thay have never been a problem and take a much harder battering than most E30's ever will!!! I cant see you having any probs at all! What wheels are you wanting to fit?

It might take more bumps and be more of a test of material reliability but problems with balance would surely be more apparent in a fast road car application, and if they aren't made to a sufficiently high degree of precision then you'll have major wheel balance type issues I'd have thought. Not saying they're bad, I don't know but I am dubious that use in an off road capacity proves suitability for fast road use. At the least it will have the same problem as people report with spacers depending how thick they are; that is eating through wheel bearings, not a fun job to do.

4x100-4x108 can be done. but as fuzzy says, spacers are not worth it.

Of roaders have bigger bearing and as such can take the beating that they get. Cars however have a more delicate bearing that needs care or else they shag out real quick!

Bear in mind as well that those things are 25mm thick, H&R do them as well, sometimes come up on german ebay, you dont get raped on postage and they are made to german TÃaV standards, put in search h&r spurplatten or distanzscheiben or spurverbreiterung and youll find something

hi guys just to add.. the car im wanting to use the spacers on only comes out 3-4 times a year purely a showcar so it wont be raced on the track, as long as the adaptors are safe

Well I can't imagine it would be a problem on a show car as long as you don't have a problem with knowing it's got that limitation, just remember to work out the offset you can always roll the arches if needs be I suppose.
