i'm looking to do a 5 stud conversion, clearly due to the majority of deep dish wheels being 5 and more widely available.

i would like to know what parts are exactly needed? and what sort of price am i looking at?

thanks

have you used them? i was thinking of that but heard people say its not such a good idea. but i need spacers anyway, cause i've got m3 arches fitted, so it could be a the easiest option.

have you completed your conversion?

NONO!!!! Extra stress on the wheels. AFAIK, the adapters are really 2 sets. 4x100-something then another into 5x120. All p, about 2.5-3 inches wide.

If you want 5 stud, easiest route is to grab E36 compact/Z3 stuff and plonk that on.

More difficult (read more expensive) is to get the E30 M3 stuff.

Personally, I would have gone for the E36 stuff as the E36 M3 brakes would fit the front fine. But I'm more than happy with my setup! Just need better brakes.

what exactly do i need? theres quite a few e36 breakers i can get hold of. so parts from them, shouldnt be a problem, but z3, oooooops.

does anyone have the link for the adapters, as i forgot to bookmark them the last time i saw them. :(

Front legs, rear arms from the E36
E30 springs and top mounts
E30 M3 lower arm offset bush

Not sure if you need the handbrake assembly.

Search for it. It's been covered many a time!!!

They will allow you to fit 5x100 wheels. BMW is 5x120

They are vile.

Firstly you'll have to make sure your wheel nuts are exactly the right length otherwise you'll be forcing them from the hubface if they are too long, too short and you'll tear the threads out of the soft aluminium.

Secondly you will be relying on getting the wheels to run on a parallel surface comprising of four machined faces rather than two. No worse than normal spacers to be fair, it's just another consideration.

Thirdly: You'll need wheels with the correct offset to allow for the spacing effect, limiting your choice anyway.

Why the hell bother?

Fvcking council modding. That's right. Space your wheels out so the KPI is vastly incorrect then come back p!ssing and whinging about tramlining, vibration and sloppy handling.

You are posting in the wrong section. This section is for engines, engine modifications and forced induction. It is not about wheels.

Do you really want the wheels that every other chaved up council chariot has on already? 5x100 I think is Subaru, rover (range/land rover)

prices:

E30 M3 (proper way) will cost you close to 1k
E36 roughly half that if you can source the parts.
adapters: Written off car, busted bearings and huge amounts of tramlining Priceless! Oh,not to forget the fact that your wheels will have a different turning radius than before, so will possibly clout the body work,
