Popped up to see a few Zoners and Bomber, who orgainises BMW stands in the South West on behalf of BMWCC. The bloke is a legend and worth anyones time to have a natter with, especially if you're looking for pristine examples of Bavarias finest to purchase.

Anyway, it was a decent show, some rare exotica on show, as well as British Leylands finest turds. Yes Mini's and Triumphs in one field... The highlight for me was a Ferrari 250gt as well as a 250gt 'Recreation' or Abortion as Jon put it!!!

Had the baby in tow so didn't take a huge amount of pictures. Apologies if your car got missed. I know Jon-BMW will be gutted!!! TBH, taking pictures of cars in fields, with anoraks wondering around is less than inspiring. So I didn't take many. Plus after taking about 150 shots at Santa Pod a couple years ago, I feel a little 'e30'd out!'

Anyway, after a little tinkering, here's 4 to start with:

A great day had by all I think. Really nicely organised stand. Thanks to Mr Browne and zone influences for making it work so well.

Nathan, I am truely gutted about the lack of photos of mine....NOT! Apart from a few shocking minis and fiestas, possibly the worst car on display. :)

Yes, it was a good show and I enjoyed meeting Jeremy too. Nice pictures Mr Coltrane and I am sorry I did not meet you, not least as I have been entertained by your comments about Baurs - mine's the white one in your photo.
Richard and the AM lot was much more entertaining though and will no doubt be remembered for some while.

I did see the perversion winkeye What a lovely example!!! The roof must be tempered canvas not to get ripped off by the gargantuan power of the phenominal is

It's a very nice car, very clean too. I'm sure the roof has more metal in it than Jon_BMW's i.s!!!!!

Yeah sorry I couldn't stay long, little baby and hungry belly dictated my duration unfortunately!

Perversion!
although I am pleased you liked it and thank you for the compliments. You're right about the windy day but obviously the wonderful material supplied by the Baur manufacturer has stood the test of time and hurricanes.

Sorry to have missed you and baby - perhaps another day then.

(ps not sure Iain should have referred to Richard as "old codger" - very risky, very risky indeed)

Thanks mate. The D80 saturates quite nicely, but I had good fun experimenting!

Cheers for the kind words.

I couldn't work out how to vignette with CS3 though, really wanted it for the last shot!

Right then Nathan....easy 5min job...
Created a duplicate layer. Split one as the sky, one as the rest (top & bottom). Darkened and increased saturation in the sky slightly, lightened and desaturated car slightly (was slightly too much imo) I thought the bodywork shone more slightly lighter and it creates more contrast between subject and sky. I then flattened both layers and used a 400px soft brush to burn the edges, giving it a once all around the edges and then again on the corners to give a vignette look. I find this random look far more appealling than a fixed vignette (that's why I don't use one on-camera)
That make sense? :D

I know what you were talking about, just not how. I've tried playing with layers but cannot fathom them for the life of me. I'll have to do some Photoshop tutorial and learn it properly.

I probably would have just burned the edges, rather than fanny with layers. I guess the difference is, you can then go through the layers and adjust the saturation on one layer, without affecting the content of others. I just don't know how!

Yup, adjust levels for each layer. Much easier and the end result is better! Just trial and error dude (or you can cheat and YouTube a tutorial!)

By the way, Richard was the guy with the red 6 series. He's a big tall guy with glasses - not the type to mess with - and was sat under the gazebo by Jackie's Baur with his wife.

Not sure why they came out so badly. Same camera I've used before, a phone admittedly but I think it suffered at Liphook when I was taking pics in the rain... :(
