It seems that haynes is being even less helpful than ever in that I can't seem to figure out which wire on the instrument cluster I need to replace with the rev-counter driver from the Emerald ECU.

Don't suppose anyone know's do they?

Also, can't seem to find which relays and wires tell the fuel pump to run :(

Any help very much appreciated!

Cheers!

Fuel pump relay is probably in the engine compartment attached to the bulkhead in fron of drivers side. May have to look behing some trim.

Wire giving power to fuel pump is green /violet.

Cheers for the replies guys.

Right, got the Green/Purp wire which goes into the big connector. Presumably if I hook this up to a new relay controlled by the Emerald, I'll have some fuel? :)

Just to be different, my 1985 car has the round connector instead of the rectangular one.

Don't suppose anyone can shed any light on the rev-counter thing can they?

Cheers!

Rev counter is a black wire through pin 9 od an E30 C101, and goes to A9 of the cluster.

Found it on another circuit diagram now - it's the blue connector.
Noticed this diagram says it's A7 not A9. Don't know which is correct, but it's definitely a black wire.

Sweet, cheers for the help guys!

Hope it works! We needed some little convertor thing for the Mi16turbo to make the rev-counter work, although at this rate, Brown should be finished first, can have my 205 driving mate being faster than me now can we

Good luck to you too! Hope it all goes well :)

Just snipped the black wire from the blue plug and connected the rev-counter driver up to it.....fingers crossed!

Was thinking about using the 'CHECK' light as the shift light but it looks like one of the connections inside the head disappears down into the rev-counter so though better of it :(

Bloody hell, what a pain in the arse getting the cill trim off to run the earth wire to the battery too!

Oh well, it's all moving in the right firection I guess
