each will have their pro's & con's, but the important question to ask yourself is what are you going to use the car for and what sort of power delivery do you want?
I certainly would not say no to a supercharger, but think I would favour the more explosive delivery of turbo

If you want it more as a daily driver, then possibly the s/c would be a "better" option, gives a more progressive power delivery, wheras a turbo will kick in more suddenly.
Does depend on how each is set-up though, if done properly a turbo can still be used in a daily driver, but personally for me the s/c edges it on a day to day basis.

you can have a progressive turbo, just wont win headline prizes for outright BHP , but if a bigger area under the graph is what you're after, either option, correctly executed will provide easily the best bang for buck out there.

i went from a bigger turbo to a smaller one so i had more instant response and quicker acceleration. turbo's arent hard to live with on a daily driver unles its excessively large giving lots of lag.

how much future tuning potential is there in a supercharger? are they as easily tunable as turbos?

headroom on superchargers ? yes, but only if you can overspec in the 1st place
use an oversized S/C for the app @ low boost, then swop to an underdrive pulley later for more boost and HP as and when required.
Example.
M20B25K on S/C for 1 Bar boost,
Use C30 in a big trim size, no worries, or
C38 in medium trim, will outperform the C30 @ the same boost level, an be capable of 1.6Bar with a pulley change, and neither would be into the surge range and pump excess heat into he intake charge.
Headroom = Deeper pockets though, although more cost effective in the long term.
Turbo, similar story although a big A/R turbine will spool later then a lower A/R with the same Turbine wheel, but make more HP as it breathes better.
M70 is hugely under stressed in OE form, space is an issue however...

quick bump
ant thanks for all your in put something i was wondering though is which is the more contained package in terms of space? which aplication (turbo/sc) would require less pipe work and wiring etc????
and how much do you think it would set me back? if i came to you for a rebuild and turbo/sc on a m70 lump what would be a sensible quote for all the work, uprated pistons, buying and installing the turbo the full package runningsay 6-800bhp?
