Rebuilt calipers

My track build is slowly progressing, and just to prove it I thought I'd post a couple of pics of my rebuilt brake calipers

I'm using the standard calipers, rebuilt using the original brackets, housings, pistons and sliders and new seals, boots, bleed nipples and fixing bolts. I had the sandblasted, then I gave them 2 coats of caliper laquer.

Although a lot of people say to use compressed air to get the rubber boot around the piston when refitting, its not necessary. I managed without, its just a bit fiddly.

how is this coming along? ive ordered the kit as well and was wondering how hard it is

The rebuild kit only contains the sealing ring and the rubber boot. The rubber boot is awkward, but you can do it without any special tools. In fact, I used my hands only because I was worried about damaging the pistons or bores with tools.

For the front calipers, fit the boot to the caliper then insert the piston. Its tricky.

For the rears, fit the boot to the piston, then insert the piston into the bore.

im not even going to attempt that myself; rather not risk it with the brakes! get my matey to do it hopefully for me. where yours torn or something?

Its pretty simple and straightforward, but the brakes are important so dont try it if youre not confident about it
