telling people about the zone

Just yesterday I was chatting to an motorsport cab owner at the traffic lights. it was hot, he had the roof down and I had the windows open so I just started asking if he was on the zone.

It seems everytime I see an e30 I'll go over and start telling the owner about the zone

Am I alone in my madness ?

I've done it quite a few times,even got out at traffic lights before to inform the owner in front of me of the Zone,he was driving a B reg 323,never saw him on here though

i left a card on monsports's car and he posted in this very forum (already a member) and we'll meet tomorrow at a zone meet!

left 2 cards on a very fine m-tech 1 sport and have never heard from him. it lives locally to me and i admire it very much - although the missus didn't seem too impressed when i dragged her over to see it hoping that she'd fall for it and ask me to find her one....

also have put 2 cards on an abandoned 318i locally with my phone number asking if we (cousin and i) can have it but haven't heard a thing.

have spoken to a few about the zone but can't say that i've got out of my motor in traffic to do so yet...

I've been over to a guy in the pouring rain on m1 services car park. he'd just bought it and had ifleing trouble. dunno if he came on. it's a red 325i tourer

another time I meet a guy in my uni exam. he bought a mtec2 sport off davetouring and it turns out we're on the same course at uni (nav is here too)

There's a nice red '25 sport going round kingston atm with another nice looking black one. not caught up with them but exchanged a headlight flash this evening down Richmond road

There's the cab I mentioned in the first post too. And I think there was another time too but can't remember now.

Tylerma has some printed cards with Zone details which he's given me that you leave under the wiper blades of any E30 you see around. I've got loads in my glove box.

My missus said maybe we should print one that says "sell that heap of sh1t and buy an E30....welcome to the Zone" for any car particularly of the rice variety. She spots more E30s than me.

If Tylerma is going to Ace on Monday then snaffle some off him.

I work part time in Halfords to pay for work on my BM's and EVERY bmw driver gets quizzed (unfortunately alot of bmw drivers come in who dont even know what e number it is... especially e36 owners - One lad wanted a dump valve for an e36 320 and i asked what turbo he had... he looked at me funny and said.. whats a turbo... dont think i got one of them mate.... FOOOOOL!)

Most E30 owners however know that they have an ace car and they all get the info about the zone!

I keep bugging this one guy to join who has an M3, e28 B9 alpina and an e24 635CSi highline all in showroom condition but i havent heard from him on here yet *insanely jealous of his collection - excatly what i wanted except a 335 and an 850CSi as well *

the other guys in my band think i'm mad. when we're driving to a gig and i'll see a mint e30 i'll say"hello you foxy maiden" and the guys think i mean a lass. no no no. the car is much better. i've already got a top class lass and yes i do tell every one all about the zone. and i mean everyone.

I have some of the 'zone flyers/business cards in each of my jackets, and put em under the windscreen whn i'm out and about!

The Mrs has recently started doing the spotting whilst i'm driving

Isn't it funny how you can almost smell the things a mile away. When I'm in the car I mutter to myself "oohh" and passengers wonders what I'm on about until they see it come into view

I'm thinking abour printin up some of my own "cards" on paper so that they'll take less space in the wallet, that way I can keep more in there cos I wouldn't wanna be gutted about not having a card on me when I see that mint m3 in the car park

Yeah I'm the same. If I see one in a carpark or at the lights, I'm straight out of the car with a zone card for them

It don't happen much mind you, E30's are like rocking horse sihte up here......

I can't get away from the thigns. one morning I counted 8 on my 13 mile trip to work. I Can't leave the house without seeing at least one. In fact as I was turning in to gsf it was a tourer e30 that stopped to let me across the road... that's some feat in mornign London traffic. who say's bm drivers are tossers

I'm up beside John O' Groats. There are a good load of E36's up here, but a serious lack of E30's. The sea air dos'nt seem to help the older cars
